StoryPrevisualisationThis is the part where a storyboard artist(s), goes about sketching or roughing out both the look and feel ,as well as to show the progression of the story. It helps everyone to be on the same page especially during the hectic production phase. This is also an important step in helping sell the story to others from both within and outside the team. The team being the cast and crew.

ManagementThis involves a producer team breaking down the story-concept and arranging those elements into bit sized chunks. Chunks that are allocated out over time, to the relevant cast and crew members. At the same time, a budget is allocated by department(i.e. makeup and effects, post sound etc) as well as by element in some cases such as for a particular effects shot or stunt scene.
inc. on location and studio shootsLocationThis involves researching and searching for the right locations. In some cases, this is not necessary as locations may already be provided. In other cases it can require an extensive search just to find suitable locations. Even when found there are usually logistical and insurance issues that can complicate things.

Sound effectsThis involves the production of and usually the creation of the various sounds that get added to a story. They are used to enhance and in some cases add realism and depth to a scene. Many times they also help evoke an emotional response that may not normally be there, but should be, at least from the point of view of the story.
This involves the making of what are also called practical effects. They are normally physically done using some apparatus or machine such as a wind machine. Normally they don\\\'t include digital effects or what are commonly referred to as VFX(visual effects). Previously known as CGI or CG effects.Visual effectsThis involves predominantly digital effects and in many cases 3D animation. This area is an industry to itself led by such companies as ILM ( Industrial Light & Magic, Digital Domain and Weta DigitalSoundThis involves all sound production after production has finished. Production being predominantly the shooting or filming of the shots of the story. Items such as Foley(such as footsteps, broken glass falling or water gushing), ADR(Automatic Dialog replacement - i.e. replacing dialog of actors that may have not been recorded at a good level or performances lacking), Sound mix(where all the sound elements including music, ADR, SFX, original tracks, etc are brought together and mixed into a final soundtrack) are key elements in the post production of the sound of a movie.
ColourThis involves taking the result of the edit, usually in final form, and adjusting the overall look of the movie. This principally refers to colour where the various parameters of colour such as brightness, hue etc that are expertly changed over time, in order to get a certain look. Nowadays this also involves some digital effects which help to enhance the look of the movie.

Interface designUIThis involves various phases including Usability studies, Interface Concepts and Device research.
This process involves the screening of movies at a theatre known as a cinema or movie theatre. In many cases they are screened to many thousands of theatres which belong to one or more chains of theatres. e.g. Hoyts, Greater Union, Regal, AMC etc
